Say hello to RITTA – JAGGER and OTTO’s little sister
After conquering the Copenhagen food scene with both burgers and pizza, our team was ready for new adventures. Our founders, former Michelin chef Rasmus Oubæk (left) and CEO Christian Brandt (right), didn’t have to travel far to find inspiration – in fact, it was right in front of us.
The inspiration for RITTA actually comes in part from some of our own core employees. For years, we’ve worked side by side with colleagues from Bangladesh, India, and Nepal, who have shared their passion and love for rice & curry. We brought this authentic food culture into our kitchens – and that’s how RITTA was born.
At RITTA, it’s all about warm, colorful, and spicy dishes, with rice and curry at the center. Here, we invite our guests into a universe of flavors, traditions, and authenticity. As an employee, you become part of a young and exciting concept in rapid growth, where you have the chance to influence both the culture and the experience – right from the very beginning.
THE RITTA JOURNEY
Our little sister RITTA was born in Vesterbro
In March 2024, we opened the very first RITTA on Vesterbrogade – a brand-new chapter in the Buzz CPH journey. RITTA was our take on a new kind of food experience in Copenhagen, rooted in the rice & curry tradition we had come to know through our colleagues from Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.
The kitchen was built with respect for authentic flavors and the warm food culture where a meal is about more than just food – it’s about community. On Vesterbro, RITTA quickly became a place people came for the spicy dishes, rice, and curry – but also for the atmosphere and the energy that came with it. This was where the foundation was laid for a concept that blends tradition, passion, and innovation.
Expansion to Nordhavn (Restaurant no. 2)
Following the success in Vesterbro, it didn’t take long before we took the next step. In September 2024, we opened our second RITTA in Nordhavn – a rapidly growing district surrounded by water, modern buildings, and life.
Here, we found a setting that perfectly matched the soul of RITTA: bright, open surroundings with room to create a new type of community. The restaurant quickly became a natural gathering place for local residents, people working in the area, and visitors from across the city who came for our warm, spicy dishes. Nordhavn marked the beginning of RITTA’s growth – from a single restaurant to a brand that even more Copenhageners could connect with.
